Eddie Theron brings up his century!

Union-Milnerton’s match against UCT this Saturday will be a historic moment for club captain and stalwart Eddie Theron as he will be running out in his 100th game for the club.

Uni-Mil’s Captain has seen it all with the club he joined a decade ago when they were still playing their rugby in the lower reaches of the WP Club Rugby leagues.

Head Coach Ishma-eel Dollie was effusive in his praise for his captain. “Eddie epitomizes loyalty,” he told CRTV. “He has been with the club through thick and thin and for him to get the opportunity to gain his 100th cap against one of the top teams and institutions in all of WP Club Rugby, UCT, will be a wonderful achievement for him.”

“It has been an honor and a privilege to coach Eddie,” Dollie added.

Theron has led from the front this year as Uni-Mil have enjoyed a spectacular maiden Super League A campaign that has included wins over Tygerberg, Durbell, and Vics.

The club currently sits in sixth position on the log, three points ahead of Saturday’s opponents UCT.

It has been a special year for the club, one that will be capped by celebrating their Captain’s milestone on Saturday.

The game between UCT and Union-Milnerton kicks off at 16h00 on Saturday 19th August on the Green Mile.
